Elite is well-prepared to assist in the transportation of
hazardous materials both by air and sea. In fact, Elite was the
first forwarding company to successfully export oilfield explosives through
the Port of Galveston.
Transportation
of dangerous goods requires tight coordination between the shipper, the
airline and the receiving country. Elite maintains a current database of
worldwide import practices to facilitate the process. We also administer
an employee training program to maintain compliance with requirements regulated
by IATA/ICAO.
While
Elite is equipped to transport hazardous materials, as the freight forwarder
we are not legally authorized to pack hazardous materials or prepare hazardous
materials certificates. The shipper is legally responsible for both. As
a service to our customers, however, we do maintain relationships with
several hazardous materials packers, enabling us to provide
a source for packing and certification of dangerous goods.
Some of the hazardous materials commonly handled by Elite
include:
Explosives
Radioactive Materials
Poisons
Toxic Chemicals
Flammable Liquids
Flammable Solids
Boxing of Tools, Equipment and Fixtures
Loading of Sea Freight Containers
